Having practiced dentistry for 37 years in the Mauldin community, Dr. John McCraw is one of the more experienced dentists in Greenville County. He grew up in Gaffney, S.C. and attended Clemson University (his blood is truly orange) where he graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Dentistry.
Dr. McCraw graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 1982 and set up his dental practice in Mauldin the following year. Dr. McCraw is a true “General Dentist” who excels in all aspects of dentistry. He has special interests in treating snoring and sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy, placing and restoring dental implants, and providing intravenous sedation for anxious and fearful patients.
Over the course of his career, Dr. McCraw has attended many seminars to improve and build upon his knowledge of dentistry, including three of the prestigious Dawson Academy classes for advanced dental studies. His greatest joy as a dentist is achieving an excellent result for the patient, without them feeling any pain.
Dr. McCraw is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Mauldin Lions Club, a charitable organization devoted to sight preservation. In his spare time, Dr. McCraw enjoys golf, skeet shooting, and scuba diving. He also regularly attends Clemson football games (GO TIGERS!).
